Villa des Sens — Baie du Cap, Mauritius

Sens means sense. In French it also means purpose.

Laurent and Estelle came to Mauritius for their tenth anniversary, fell for the island, and built a house in the southwest. It was finished in September 2022.

Three bedrooms on one level, open on every side. The living room runs into a terrace above the infinity pool, each bedroom has its own ensuite indoors and out, and the roof garden supplies the kitchen.

Baie du Cap sits on the quiet side of the island, under the UNESCO peak of Le Morne. Chamarel and the Black River Gorges are a short drive inland; kitesurfing, snorkelling, golf and hiking are all within reach.
